Vltava International Choral Festival is organized by Inter Culture Association, and supported by Professional Musical Organizations and Prague Municipal.

Part I  General

1.Purposes:

Although the modern life has been changed a lot, become more diverse, global view of vision, cross border of thinking, and beyond the boundary of the geography, art is still yet an indispensable part for today's young people to grow.

With having such a great "Prague Spring" reputation and the art music tradition city in Prague, we are pleased to create this opportunity for both local and from far away art enthusiasts, expected learning to display their talents, to deepen their love for the art of singing, to improve the level of artistic expression and appreciation, and to harvest friendships and grow together.

 2.Conditions:

People who interested in choral groups are welcome to enroll Choral Festival, there is no limitation to number of groups, but in principle, the number of people within a group no more than 55 people.

4. Organizations

Vltava International Choral Festival is mainly organized by:

    Inter Cultural Association-Czech China Culture Association

and with receiving assistance from:

    Czech Republic Music Association and other professional organizations;

Choral Festival Organizing Committee is solely responsible for the preparation works of the organization.  The jurors committee is formed by well-known choral art experts.

Part II  Time & Content

Held Time

Choral Festival scheduled at February 2014.

Activities Content

Opening & Closing Ceremonies, Choral Competitions, Experts Advisory, Exchange Programs.

Part III  Choral Competitions

Theme: TREND|NATION|TRADITION

Choral Competitions

Choral competitions scheduled at 5.2.2014 held in Prague.

The theme of the competition is consisted of: Trend, Nation and Tradition.

Programs and Performance Time

The total duration time for each choir competition song is limited to 20 minutes or less;

Performing at least one own national composer works with having their own ethnic style;

Performing at least a contemporary modern popular works;

Other optional (note: may choose cappella works);

Competition Song and Change

The Submission deadline: 31.12.2013

The latest deadline for the change of competition song: 15.1.2014

The starting order for the Choral Competition:  will be announced before 15.1.2014

         Evaluation Criteria

1)  Choral skills, intonation, rhythms, integration, the balance of sound etc, 40% proportion;

2)  Understanding and performance of the work, the suitability for the overall stage style, 10% proportion;

3)  Conductor level, 20% proportion;

4)  Teamwork and stage infectant power, 30% proportion;

Awards Established (the final version to be confirmed)

According to the competition team's performance characteristics, the awards are included in: the best choir award, the best live results award, the best works performance award, the best music understanding award, the best nation works performance award, the best fashion works performance award, and the hope award and etc.

Part V  Registration and Requirements

Registration deadline: 31.12.2013(Valid for the Czech Republic)

For long distance groups, the deadline of registration is according to local agent Notice, due to airticket and trip arrangement

Application Materials

The following materials must be submitted before deadline:

1. A completed application form;

2. An Introduction of Choir (in Chinese & English), submitted with WORD document format (note: Chinese 300 words or less, for English 250 characters or less);

3. 1 ~ 2 sheets choir photos, size not smaller than 12 x 7.5 cm, no less than 300 dpi pixels, no more than two years (note: preferably jpg format);

The Program List for Participation of Choral Competition

Please submit the program list for participation of choral competition to the Organizing Committee (note: word document format), including the works information: song title, time duration, music, songwriter, copyright information and etc.

Accompaniment Requirements

The Organizing Committee provide piano, if there is other music instruments demand, choir shall make their own arrangements or send notice in advance to the Organizing Committee for negotiated settlement.  

Registration Method

Please register before the deadline and send e-mail to the Organizing Committee.  It is also advised to call the Organizing Committee.

 

Part VI  Broadcast Recording Rights

Broadcast Recording Rights

During Choral Festival period, the Organizing Committee has the right to process recording, filming and photographing jobs against each choral group performance, as well as has its recording, shooting all copyright content and usage rights.

 Other Rights

In participation of Choral Festival deemed to agree with the above constitutions, the Choral Festival Organizing Committee has the final interpretation right to the constitutions, as well as the rights of supplementary and amendment.
